Calverton Baton and Poms Corps
batonsandpoms@calvertonrec.org Sponsored by The Calverton Recreation Council we are the Calverton Batons & Poms Corps.
We teach baton twirling and poms to girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 16 years old.
We offer team instruction as well as individual instruction.
We practice evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at either Calverton Elementary School or Martin Luther King Middle School
Our practice season extends from October through July with competitions beginning in February and ending with Nationals Competition in July of each year.
As members of USTA (United States Twirling Association) we are a competition corps and compete on a local, state, regional and national level.
Although this is considered to be a "competitive sport", our goal has always been for our athletes to have fun as well as boost their self-confidence and socializing skills.
