CALVERTON COED SOFTBALL RULES

10 RUN MERCY RULE AFTER 5 INNINGS.  

CAN ONLY SCORE MAX 10 RUNS PER INNING (if 10 runs are scored change slides no matter how many outs there are)

NO LEADING OR STEALING, CAN’T LEAVE THE BASE UNTIL BALL IS HIT.

SLIDING IS PERMITTED AND IS RECOMMENDED ON CLOSE PLAYS.

THE COUNT STARTS OFF WITH 1 BALL AND 1 STRIKE.

2 GAMES ARE PLAYED 7 INNINGS EACH OR 1 HOUR TIME LIMIT OR THE

MERCY RULE WHICH EVER COMES FIRST.  A TIE WILL BE PLAYED OUT IF

THERE IS TIME. (Going to 1 pitch)

BATTING ORDER GOES MAN/WOMEN OR WOMEN/MAN

YOU PLAY 10 FIELDERS (4 OUTFIELDERS) .  CAN BAT EVERYONE

AS LONG AS YOU HAVE MAN/WOMEN OR WOMEN/MAN.

PLEASE GO BY THESE RULES SO WE CAN HAVE A FUN SAFE LEAGUE.

YOU CAN HAVE A CURSORY RUNNER BUT IT MUST BE THE LAST OUT.

MEN FOR MEN AND WOMEN FOR WOMEN.

BALL SIZE  MEN IS 12 INCH 44 CORE

                     WOMEN IS 11 INCH 44 CORE

                      (GET THE YELLOW BALLS EASLIER TO SEE WHEN GETTING DARK)

BASES ARE 65 FEET APART IT’S BEST IF YOU HAVE 2 BASES AT FIRST ONE BASE THAT’S IN FAIR TERRIORTY AND ONE RIGHT NEXT TO IT IN FOUL TERRIORITY THE RUNNER GOES FOR THE FOUL BASE AND THE FIRST BASEMAN HAS THE FAIR BASE BAG THIS HELPS SO NO ONE GETS HURT.

PITCHERS MOUND IS 45 FEET.

We are excited to announce that the Calverton Rec Council has expanded it's Adult Softball League.  Please pass this information to friends and family.  Coach Wilford Kent will be the commissioner this year.  General inquiries can be directed to him directly at wilfordkent@calvertonrec.org  Volunteers and Coaches are always needed.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone come out and have a great time.
